Rolex Watches For Men and Women

The Rolex watch is one of the great status symbols of modern times. The Swiss firm was founded just before World War 1 by Hans Wildorf.

In 1926 the Oyster was the first major Rolex wristwatch and the world's first waterproof timepiece. It is said that Wildorf was inspired by his inability to open a naturally "waterproof" oyster at a party. The Oyster's twinlock system seals the winding mechanism against moisture.

Rolex watches retain their investment value not only because of their high quality and pursuit of horological invention, but because the company maintains tight control over the number produced each year and by carefully selecting a limited number of dealers.

Following on the Oyster, Rolex introduced the self-winding Perpetual, the Date-Just (displayed the day of the month), the Submariner, and the Day-Date (indicating the day of the month while spelling the day of the week).

Among the models most popular with collectors are the Prince, the Oyster, the Doctor's watch, and the GMT Master (its fourth hand keeps Greenwich Mean Time).

Popular Rolex lines include Yacht-Master, Deepsea, Cellini, Submariner, Daytona, GMT Master, Explorer, Milgauss, Turn-o-graph, Air King, Perpetual, Special Edition, and Pearlmaster. Within these lines you will find chronographs, gold jewelry watches, spectacular diamond watches, and stainless steel.
